Hello,
in order to run MuWire from a .zip file on Windows, you need two things
1. An I2P router. If you are reading this page, means you already have one
2. Java 17 or newer. Here is how to check which version you have:
2.1 Open a command prompt by typing "cmd.exe" in the task bar, next to the start button. A black box will appear
2.2 Type "java -version". If you see anything less than 17, you need to upgrade.
How to install/upgrade Java
Download the x64 java installer from https://www.oracle.com/java/technologie ... 22-windows and install it. Then repeat steps 2.1 and 2.2 above and you should see 22 as version.
If you got this far, you can now unzip the MuWire-0.8.14-beta2.zip. I assume you downloaded it from postman's torrent here http://tracker2.postman.i2p/index.php?v ... l&id=78811. Then launch bin\MuWire.bat.
Connect to the network
If you downloaded the torrent from postman, there will be a connections.txt file in it. After the MuWire setup wizard finishes and the main MuWire window launches, select Connections (top left menu) -> Import connections and select the connections.txt file.
If that worked, MuWire should say that it has imported a certain number of connections and should connect shortly. Watch the number on the bottom right (next to the icon that looks like a molecule). That is the number of connections to other MuWire nodes. As soon as it connects, you can search and use MuWire in general.
Let me know if you have any questions.
