new simp.i2p indexer
Re: new simp.i2p indexer
I have also just had the idea of "delta" updates - when you download it, it has a version string, and when you go download again, you specify that previous version - it gives only new entries after the previous versions.
Re: new simp.i2p indexer
that's a good idea, would save a chunk on bw
Re: new simp.i2p indexer
@cumlord please change your outlook of qBittorrent on your website simp.i2p, to a little bit more on a positive note.
I am not asking for 5/5 rating considering qBittorrent still lacks PEX & DHT but it is the best & worthy of at the very least 3/5 rating when we take into account - RAM & other resources in use, connection stability for longer periods in time.

Re: new simp.i2p indexer
i'm taking another look at it, it's way smoother now. i'll update the site after i run some upload tests on it
qbits easily one of the best overall clients out there for clearnet and my personal favorite for that purpose, good i2p support is a big win for us

Re: new simp.i2p indexer
so what was the result of the testing?
Did qBittorrent pass?

Re: new simp.i2p indexer
overall it seems to be doing very well, originally wanted to just see it do an initial swarm by itself but tracker issues were making it annoying to do a test download from other clients, so i ended up running it alongside snark
for a 731m torren (total upload):
qbit 758m
snark1 791m
snark2 795m
bigly was also in the mix but have it set to generally de-prioritize those as seeder count grows, not best comparison
probably tuning i can do

Re: new simp.i2p indexer
tried again, i can get SUPER fast connections on a single peer like 400-700kbs which is fucking GREAT, but rest of swarm is often crawling. i've been adjusting it while a couple of them upload, each snark instance going around 200-400 per torrent, qbit seems to like hanging around 50< most the time unless we happen to get a very fast peer. One of them was going around 600K/s for a while but almost all on 1 peer.
could be a skill issue on my part lol. my personal preference for i2p has been to try to get it seeded asap seeding-time wise while doing fuck all for efficiency. thinking what i'm seeing is probably intentional for optimizing seeding efficiency which is totally fine

Continue to use it and it will stabilize.
My recent 10+ GB torrent - 3 had 300+KB/s speed, 2 had 80-100 KB/s speed, 3 had below 50 KB/s speed.
Re: new simp.i2p indexer
i'm seeing similar total output across the clients now, might just sort of even out at least on raw output. which is what i was hoping to see, maybe it's faster in some contexts which is exciting but its definitely on par now
makes sense for users coming from clearnet using qbit can stick with it, probably would be easiest and having more of a mix is a good thing
would be interested to see what the easiest way is to run more instances of it on a host, it runs light enough it could be a more resource efficient way to do that

Switch Super-Seeding ON for all your new torrents and watch how faster & easily it crosses 1 MB/s in qBittorrent
