I read up on the internet but there are many conflicting reports about it. But basic premise is 3:3 ratio to download torrents. But torrents speeds are lower 180KBps maxx.
I read here[discuss.i2p] that torrents give speeds of 400-800 KBps from one peer. But torrents I am downloading are not reaching that speed. What am I doing wrong? How to correct it and get those kinds of speeds?
How to make my torrents faster download?
Re: How to make my torrents faster download?
torrent client / tunnel settings would be useful info. usually more tunnels will allow for faster speeds. could just be a slow swarm too, not many seeds = not much speeds
Re: How to make my torrents faster download?
I already mentioned it as 3:3 [3 tunnels & 3 hops] maybe I will change tunnels to highest possible
torrent was well seeded with 10 seeders and 6 leechers
Re: How to make my torrents faster download?
when skimming i must've read that as upload ratio my bad, client is somewhat relevant, in snark there's little reason not to use max tunnels 16/16 as it will adjust to only what it needs on its own. the others somewhere <8 is probably good for most normal usecases, if you do too many you'll just have a bunch of wasted tunnels unless you're downloading a lot at once
Re: How to make my torrents faster download?
I did 16 for i2psnark. what should i do for biglybt? or do i just check-mark automatic there? how many hops in biglybt?cumlord wrote: ↑Wed Apr 23, 2025 3:42 pm when skimming i must've read that as upload ratio my bad, client is somewhat relevant, in snark there's little reason not to use max tunnels 16/16 as it will adjust to only what it needs on its own. the others somewhere <8 is probably good for most normal usecases, if you do too many you'll just have a bunch of wasted tunnels unless you're downloading a lot at once
