Unable to use LibreTorrent 3.6 on Android 14. only able to use opentracker.r4sas.i2p

Post by Chef K »

Hello. I've been experiencing issues trying to torrent on Android ever since I started Torrenting for the first time.

At first, I thought this was an issue with postmans torrent site but putting in more trackers has shown that this is an issue with almost all of them...

Please see the screenshot down below...

as you can see, most of the problems are caused by either "Missing key: ip" or "no ip (dest)"

I'm not an expert in torrenting so forgive me if somehow if there was some silly error I made. I'm trying it out for the first time.

I know that they aren't broken as I can seed with them on my laptop. but this still leaves the issue of either my client(s) or my phone!

I want to be able to use these but this issue is preventing me from doing so. so any help with this would be appreciated.

The application is not announcing correctly, it is not providing the required IP parameter. Report it to LibreTorrent.

Our spec is at https://geti2p.net/en/docs/applications/bittorrent

You should absolutely report it, as zzz said. The owner seems to also want to implement i2p support: https://gitlab.com/proninyaroslav/libre ... -/issues/2 - but maybe has forgotten about it.

But while you're waiting for the fix, you may try to install Termux and run qBittorrent inside Termux. It should provide an environment similar to desktop Linux, so it may work. You should set up qBittorrent to use WebUI (install the package "qbittorrent-nox"; so you don't have to bother with X11 server and stuff) and then enable and configure I2P in settings. And add torrents.
